About One World Reiki | Professional Japanese Usui Reiki

Grenville Williams, Usui Reiki Ryoho Practitioner / Teacher One World Reiki is honoured to be able to teach a traditional Japanese form of Reiki called Usui Reiki Ryoho. The term Usui Reiki Ryoho is a generic one utilised by many teachers over the years and yet there is a specific reason for its use by One World Reiki. By constantly reflecting on its translation, Usui spiritual energy healing method, the teachings are brought into line with what the founder Usui Mikao would have been influenced by and taught. One World Reiki is run by the founding director, Reiki teacher, Grenville Williams. Grenville has no desire to create a new form of Reiki but rather to turn inward and find the teachings within the system utilising what is known of it from a historical perspective. And, for this reason Grenville constantly works at returning to the traditional practises and ways taught back in the early 1900s Japan. Usui Reiki Ryoho, as taught by One World Reiki, is therefore a non-modernised form of Reiki, attempting to teach the origins of the system of Reiki from its Japanese perspective and roots. These teachings include physical and energy enhancing techniques to help and aid practitioners delve deeper into their practice. The difference between Reiki training courses with One World Reiki and most modern Reiki training courses is that the initiation process, course information and techniques taught stem directly from Grenville’s direct experience over many years in his own self-healing process and practice in his dedication and passion in discovering Reiki’s real true original roots of the system. By training with some of the world’s leading Reiki researchers and teachers, Grenville’s knowledge has become profoundly refined within his practise and teaching. The teachings also have a different focus than modern forms of the system of Reiki with One World Reiki always taking personal development and spirituality as a starting point.

Grenville’s experience as a practitioner and teacher in healing and spirituality spans over 16 years and he teaches regularly in the UK, Europe and the Far East. Through successfully receiving Reiju/attunements and teaching with Frans Steine (The International House of Reiki), Grenville now practises and teaches from a Japanese perspective, teaching the five major elements of the system of Reiki; the precepts, meditations, hands-on healing, mantras and symbols and Reiju/attunement, Grenville provides students with a fundamental structure when teaching the system of Reiki. As an experienced and passionate practitioner and teacher, his research into the Japanese Energetic System and the Japanese Cosmology of Earth, Heaven and Humanity have resulted in a clarity and completeness to the system that has not been taught or understood in the current world of Reiki.

Grenville originally studied in Worcester and the Malvern Hills in 1996 with two renowned Reiki teachers, where he received First Degree Reiki attunements into the Usui Shiki Ryoho system, the Western form of self-healing, introduced by Hawayo Takata to the West in 1938. In 1997 he trained in Second Degree in the Usui Shiki Ryoho (Western Lineage: Usui-Hayashi-Takata) and revised the Second Degree in the year 2000. After much practice on self and others he felt that he was ready to progress to the Third Degree (Master/Teacher Level) of Reiki. He approached his master/teacher to discuss the training and on the 29 January 2001, he became a teacher in the Western form/style of Usui Reiki. On the 25 and 26 February 2001, he taught Usui Shiki Ryoho to his first class of students the “Art and Discipline of Self-Healing”. In 2004, he trained further with Frank Arjava Petter (Author of "Reiki Fire" and "Reiki - The Legend of Dr Usui") in traditional Japanese Reiki techniques and the way in which Hayashi Sensei, the founder of the Western Reiki system, worked in his clinic in Tokyo. He was guided to found One World Reiki in 2001 and played a significant part to help establish energetically strong, grounded and heart centred practitioners and teachers from all parts of the UK as well as playing a significant role in helping to establish centres within the West Midlands region. In continuing his research into Japanese Arts and Ways he has a visit to Japan scheduled for 2013/2014 to further his self development and take in Reiki founder Usui Mikao’s memorial stone in Tokyo as well as other Reiki sites such as Mt Kurama and Mt Hiei near Kyoto. Grenville has connected with teachers:Frans Steine (The International House of Reiki) and Frank Arjava Petter (Author of "Reiki Fire" and "Reiki - The Legend of Dr Usui") to research Usui’s life, focussing on the influences of his teachings. His aim is to provide students with the most comprehensive and up to date information about the teachings as well as a strong energetic connection to the founder, Usui Mikao.

As interest in the original aspects of the system grows, many will be naturally drawn into the Japanese practise and the philosophy of its roots. One World Reiki courses attract those who are searching for truth and inner connectedness through the system and to learn more about the origins of Usui’s teachings. Grenville has been an active member of the Reiki community since 1997, a member of The International Reiki Society, The Reiki Association and later of the UK Reiki Federation. His primary focus within One World Reiki is to assist the student’s own self-healing process at each level and to ensure that they are confident at each stage of their development and to help support the growth and understanding of the Japanese aspects of the system of Reiki and authentic Japanese Reiki principles within Usui Reiki Ryoho.
